Absolutely delightful sweet spiced nuts. I've been enjoying these every holiday season for as long as I can remember. If you've never had anything like this before, it's not too late to discover this special treat. Even if you are familiar with the concept, I'd urge you to give these a try, because I firmly believe there's nothing else quite like these - and I've heard the same from everyone else I've seen try them.

Every year as Thanksgiving rolled around, my mom would start making these to package up and give as gifts to all our friends, family, and neighbors. Each batch in the oven filling the house with a delightful warmth and sweet scent, my brother and I would watch and wait for our chance to taste-test a sample before we packed them up to bring to our loved ones.

In that glorious moment when she'd announce that the next batch going in was for us, the clock seemed to slow to half-speed. We'd wait attentively in the kitchen, often playing board games to help pass the time as we waited for the sound of the oven to announce our delight. Then, the timer would go off, and we'd all jump up to collectively escort our pan of sweet spiced treats over to the counter. I still remember feeling the warmth coming off them as we'd hover over the cooling rack, restlessly picking at them one at a time, waiting until they were just cool enough to bite into.

Every year, we would indulge in these delights all through the season, leading this special treat to become nothing less than a core memory for me - a staple of my childhood and of the holidays with my family.

As time passed, we grew into the tradition and started to participate more and more in their creation. Eventually, as we grew up and went off on our own, my mom passed her recipe to my brother, Anthony. His relentless creativity and artisan spirit drove him to carry it forward to the new generation - refining it with his own culinary insights. Of course, I can't say he's outdone my own mother - but I would have to kindly reject any proposition of a blind taste test to preserve my neutrality 😉

He has also channeled the entrepreneurial spirit necessary to turn them into something that can be shared at a greater scale - reaching more mouths and touching more homes than they ever could have before. As corny as it sounds, the idea of him getting these out there and sharing them with so many different people really draws upon the idea that, in a way, everyone is like family.

these are so so yummy!!!! the packaging is so cute as well. they’d be such a good little gift maybe for like stocking stuffers????
